What is the difference between Isolate CBD and Full Spectrum CBD?
Isolate CBD is 99% pure CBD. It’s processed to remove all other cannabinoids, terpenes, and hemp compounds, leaving only cannabidiol(CBD). It contains no THC, making it a suitable option for those who want to avoid any trace of this compound. It is often used by individuals who are interested solely in the effects of CBD.
Full Spectrum CBD contains all the natural compounds found in the cannabis plant, including various cannabinoids (like THC), terpenes, flavonoids, and essential oils. It’s believed to provide an “entourage effect”, where the combined action of multiple compounds works synergistically, enhancing the overall therapeutic effects of the product. It does contain trace amounts of THC, but the concentration is usually below 0.3% in legal products derived from hemp. This amount is typically not enough to produce psychoactive effects but may show up on very sensitive drug tests.
There’s also a middle ground between Full Spectrum and Isolate CBD known as Broad Spectrum CBD. It contains multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial compounds found in the cannabis plant, but it’s processed to remove THC.
