How fast does CBD work?
The speed at which CBD starts to work on the body depends on several factors, including specific symptom or condition being treated, the dosage, the individual’s body composition and metabolism, and the method of consumption.
- Vaping or smoking: This is the fastest method for CBD absorption as it enters your lungs and into your bloodstream. This means you can feel the effects almost immediately usually within minutes.
- Tinctures: When CBD oil is held under the tongue for a minute or so before swallowing, it’s absorbed by the mucous membranes in the mouth and can kick in within 15-30 minutes.
- Edibles and capsules: This method is slower since it has to pass through the digestive system and then get metabolized by the liver. It may take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to feel the effects. However, the effects may last longer compared to other methods.
